Betsy: Where are we going?
Me: We are going to a place to find out how to earn a patch (Cape Canaveral National Seashore).
Betsy: What will we have to do?
Me: Well, probably you will go to a class, do some worksheets and pick up trash.
Besty: Pick up trash? We need to pick up trash. Yesterday in the ocean a wave ran me over and landed a plastic bag on my head. Not a big bag, but kind of bag that you have to use you fingernails to close it for sandwiches.
Joseph discovered this morning that little crabs are all over the beach. When he stood still he could see them going in and out of their holes in the sand. Later I watched him dig with his little shovel about 50 of these holes. With each one he would say, "Nope, nobody's home here."
Besty walking along with her hands full of shells:
"If a cwab jumps out of this shell I think I'm going to scweam!!"

Looks like a wonderful trip, and I love the things they said.
Thanks for sharing your vacation with us! I love when you share your conversations with your kids. How's everyone's hair holding up in that high humidity? :-)
It's so fun hearing about your Florida trip and seeing all the lovely pictures! It sounds wonderful!

I think I'd scream too lol.
Oh and what wonderful conversations. I love the little things kids say
The beach is calling me... We leave for Maine next week, but the ocean water will probably be at most 60 degrees. The Florida beach is so much better! :) Thanks for sharing your journey with us, I am having a blast reading your's and Mr. Bird's blogs. :)
Thanks for visiting my site. I have enjoyed reading through some of your posts. It looks like you are in my neck of the woods right now.
I hope you have a great trip in Florida. If you need any sight-seeing tips, I'd be happy to help out.
Love the picture! Looks like a lovely time.
P.S. Thanks for the encouragement on our "tomato staking."
