Packing

Packing a family of nine for one month is no small feat, I say. Eighteen pairs of shoes, swim shoes, sports equipment, beach towels, pillows.... all take up awkward space. These items usually get shoved under seats and then are strewn all over the van.

No more. Meet the mammoth Ziploc bags. These had to have been invented by a mother. This is so working for me.

There are many more ideas over at Works for me Wednesday today. Take a look!

Joseph with his packing list drawn like hieroglyphics. He made a list of what Rebekah, Elizabeth and he have packed in their backpacks. I love "R"'s line of blank paper.

Looks like you've gotten a good start on packing ideas! Packing for a month sounds hard, sorry! The trip will hopefully be so wonderful that it's all worth it though :)

I had to stop and start again when I read "18 pairs of shoes"! As a mother of 2, I can only imagine the amount of planning and organizing that is required to pack for so many people! Good luck!

I am having a hard time packing for one person for a month... kudos for packing for the family for a month!!
I love super-sized ziplocks.
And tell that little Joseph man that he makes the best packing list! ;)

I am just glad that you are getting by with only 18 pairs of shoes. I would have a hard time picking just 2 pairs to set a good example...but you gotta with NINE people ;)

Love those huge bags! They are fantastic. Packing a family is HARD! I can't imagine doing it for so many. It has been wonderful to have our older ones take over more and more of their packing duties.

Of course, when Sarah (5 year old) heard we would be going to TX in August, she asked if she could get out her suitcase and start packing now. Ha! Just a wee bit early, sweet heart.

Hope you all enjoy yourself on this month-long vacation! You are on the other side of the state from where I reside :-)
