Exercise Buddies

Recently I've taken up exercising to the ole DVD. Somewhere along the line I convinced myself that I hated exercising with the TV. I don't know what I was thinking, because I'm really enjoying it. Needless to say this has become a spectacle of great interest to the kids seeing their mother sweat and contort herself. These are just a few of the comments that have made me chuckle:

Joseph: (building a Lego spaceship as I lift weights) Mom what is flab? (silence) Why do you need to get rid of the flab? (silence) How do you get flab?

Rebekah: Mom, you doing a good job. Your teacher says you doing a good job. Good job, Mommy.

Betsy: Mommy, you look like a ballerina.
Joseph: She's not a ballerina, she's practicing her karate.

Need to smile today? Go over to Mary's and enjoy Tiny Talk Tuesday.

Such great commentary!!! David found out how to lock doors yesterday, found some play keys and went around and locked 4 of the upstairs doors. He was pretty happy with himself until I found him and then had to find a coat hanger to unlock all the doors.

Thanks for sharing, those comments made me lol! My 4yo is the one who would ask about flab around here. :) It's great to set an example and exercise in front of the kiddos, but some privacy would be good too (I know, I get lots of comments and participants when I do a dvd, too. :))

I was truely laughing out loud from those cute comments! :)
I've got to congratulate you on doing this, Monica...we got a treadmill after Christmas and I've got to admit that I haven't used it like I should...it takes such discipline!

LOL - love it! My kids still talk about my kicking video (Tae.bo) from long ago. Maybe again once this baby is a few months old.

What video do you do?

Good for you! I love DVD exercise; I can wear what I want, never have to pay a membership fee, and can keep my kids on track at the same time. I really like Leslie Sansone and get her DVDs at the library. She's got so many I've never been bored.
