Update

The surgery went well. I'm sure that the doctor told me all about it but I seriously can't remember. I heard that I was snoring and drooling instead. The anesthesia worked well. I was a bit nauseous after (I'm a puker) , but thanks to phenergen I was able to sleep instead. The procedure took just over an hour, but it took my 3 hours to open my eyes. I felt like I got hit by a truck!

I'm home now with my leg propped and pain medicine in hand. The older girls will be here with me. The little ones went to my mom and dad's house. Tomorrow I will start ambulating every hour and be back to the doctor Wednesday. He said I could consider serious mobilization on Saturday.

My only regret is not having my camera with me. The doctor marked my many veins with a Sharpie. I'm just sure that it could have sold as art work!

Thank you for your many prayers.

Glad to hear all went well.

Thanks for your encouraging comment on my topic d'jour. I am SO with you on living for Jesus in the daily tasks at hand and yet I find it very difficult to be intentional about the mission that is the reason behind them. Haven't yet discovered Brother Lawrences ability to practice the presence of God, I guess!

How long should it take for you to recover? Hopefully not too long! My mom is 49 and wearing hose already and has had flabitus (sp?) so I'm sure I'm headed that way. On my 4th pregnancy I was in hose for what felt like forever! Those things are awwwwful and the veins are so uncomfortable.
Glad you were able to find a solution!
Lovely wedding pics! You seem to have passed on some beautiful curls to your girls!
